What is Personal Injury?

At Richard Schwartz and Associates of Mississippi we often get asked what exactly personal injury law means. Today we’re going to explain the basics of personal injury law in Mississippi and how it affects you as a victim.

Personal injury law is a legal term for an injury to the body, mind or emotions, as opposed to an injury to property. This usually entails car accidents, slip and fall, and product defects. However personal injury can also describe assault claims and a few other criminal charges.

The term is typically used to describe an incident when someone’s pain is caused by another or negligence in a place of business. That is why personal injury covers car accidents, slip and falls, and on the job accidents. Personal injury lawyers can claim liability against the person who owns the business or who caused the wreck. Liability means that those people are being held accountable for the injuries of the victim. Personal injury attorneys know the ins and outs of personal injury law as they get increasingly complicated within each state.

Every state has their own legal definition of personal injury law and different policies regarding them. Mandates, statutes of limitation, and other requirements change depending on your location.

On the Kings birthday, I too try and watch at least Aloha and On Tour, as well as what mvoeis they may play to celebrate. Have also been watching each year Home shopping networks tribute to Elvis. Being as I was born Jan. 5th I always felt even closer to Elvis. But on a sad note, This is the day my dear mother passed away 2005, we where going to watch Elvis mvoeis at the hospital. How ironic. But I will celebrate her and Elvis on his special day as always! So to all Elvis fans, wear your Elvis garb, play his songs, watch his concerts, and celebrate The King and his legacy on this special day!! TCB forever!!
