Jones Act Differences

If you are injured on a boat or an oil rig, it is very important to determine if it is a stationary rig or something that is movable. Because there are two parts to the maritime law: The Jones Act and the Longshoremen's Act. The Jones Act covers people on things that are movable while the Longshoremen's Act covers people that are that work on something that is stationary to the ground. It is an important distinction that a lawyer needs to resolve.
