A fatal eighteen wheeler and car accident happened near Hattiesburg, Mississippi last week. Police who investigated the wreck have said it happened when a vehicle was following too closely behind an eighteen wheeler had no response time when the eighteen wheeler began to slow down.
Joshua Henry Payne was traveling east down Interstate 10 when the vehicle he was in collided with the back of an eighteen wheeler. The eighteen wheeler was unaware of the impact and continued moving forward while the vehicle became lodged under the tractor trailer. The vehicle was crunched and drug several hundred feet before the eighteen wheeler came to a complete stop on the shoulder of the interstate.
The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Henry Payne, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while the driver of the eighteen wheeler was not injured. For more information about this car wreck visit Channel 15 WXVT’s website here.
