Cyclist Safety

With the unusually warm temperatures many Mississippians are out and about trying to stick to their New Year’s resolutions of exercising. Whether you’re a walker, cyclist or behind the wheel of the car there are some things you need to keep in mind in order to make our roads safe for everyone.

Drivers should give three feet for cyclists and if you can’t pass right away slow down to avoid crowding or startling them. Both cyclists and drivers should make sure they signal when turning to let other vehicles, walkers and cyclists know what they are doing and to avoid a car accident. Cyclists and walkers should wear reflective clothing or use some sort of clip of lighting to let others know they’re there. Cyclists and walkers should also make sure that if they are using in iPod or other device that they keep the volume low enough that they can hear what’s going on around them.

Richard Schwartz and Associates want everyone to be safe on the road but they understand that car accidents happen. They are skilled to handle your case and can take stress away from you by talking to the insurance company and handling your claim. Be sure to call them to see what they can do for you.
