Another Hattiesburg Tractor-Trailer Accident

A two vehicle wreck in Hattiesburg, Mississippi this week sent one to the hospital and closed Interstate 59 down for almost four hours while debris was cleaned up. Richard Schwartz and Associates of Hattiesburg, Mississippi advocates safety while driving and encourages all drivers to develop safe driving habits.

This month in Hattiesburg, Mississippi an eighteen wheeler side swiped the right side of a slow moving vehicle before losing control and crashing into the median. Sources say the slow moving vehicle was a Cadillac and the women driving the vehicle said she was low on gas. The driver of the eighteen wheeler had very little time to respond to the slow moving vehicle in front of him and barely swiped the back right end of the car as he tried to move out of the way.

The tractor-trailer was carrying a load of metal construction poles. When he made quick evasive action of the slow moving vehicle the load wobbled. This caused the trailer to spin out of control and enter the median of the interstate. The poles left the trailer and spilled out onto Interstate 59 just outside the Hattiesburg city limits.

There were no fatalities in this accident. The driver of the eighteen wheeler was uninjured in this wreck, while the women driving the Cadillac went to the South Center Regional medical center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
